Danisarte is honored to present a timely new work in New York City: A Two-Part Press Conference Drama – Sofía: A Forgotten Child of the Border by Rodolfo Alvarado.

This powerful two-part play amplifies voices silenced by the U.S. family separation policy. In Part One, the audience witnesses a quiet, emotionally charged interview between three characters. In Part Two, the narrative shifts into a gripping press conference, where the truth is confronted in public view.

Through the stories of Javier, a Mexican father, and Amalia, a Latina intake clerk, the piece blends art and testimony to confront one of today’s most urgent humanitarian crises—honoring the countless forgotten children represented by Sofía.

Produced in recognition of migrants’ contributions and struggles, the play also seeks presenting partners and venues to help carry Sofía’s story beyond a single performance.
